And then it does not even seem to be of top priority to fix such stuff. I have to admit that I'm pretty surprised in a bad way and also kind of angered that an antipiracy-feature, turns out to be detrimental to the consumer, like in many other games, while pirating your game does take 0 afford (GCW). The game needs to be run through the GOG Galaxy client for now, although devs are hoping to fix this in the future.ĭid the developers fix that gamebreaking "feature" for the GoG version, so that people on GoG can buy and play it DRM-free? Though if my assumption is correct, then CotL implements some custom DRM and therefore should not be sold on GoG at all. Shame though, I prefer to buy Games on GoG, because they are supposed to be DRM free. So basically I need to use Proton to run GoG-Galaxy to run CotL. There is no GoG-Galaxy Client installed on my Steam Deck, so CotL can not verify it is not pirated. ![]() Originally posted by fullnewb:I think I understand the problem now. Tried with multiple wine versions (including a version of proton from Steam that worked for the demo). Tried with and without the framerate caps, fullscreen and windowed. The dll patch I found on the steam forums doesn't work, it prevents me from getting past the "press any key" main menu screen when installed. I've read that this is supposed to be a video. Audio plays for a while and a mouse cursor is visible, but that's it. (2) If I get past that: moments later the game softlocks on a black screen. Im not sure what the issue app on the desktop gog galaxy app dont work nor you search games. Hat guy animation still keeps going but no dialogue is visible and pressing keys does nothing. Real-time problems and outages for GOG.com (Good old games). (1) Most of the time the game softlocks after the "yes" or "certainly" choice. After fighting the game for an hour or so (repeating the same intro sequence over and over again with different settings and wine versions) I have now requested a refund from GOG.īoth of my issues occur at the hat guy (One Who Waits?) you meet after getting decapitated. The steam demo worked so I bought the game on GOG today. ![]()
